Sky Sport and Coni together against Cancer

Do not score an own-goal. Attack cancer. This initiative was promoted by Sky Sport, the Office of the Prime Minister, Coni (the Italian Olympic Committee), the Italian Football Association and the Federation of Sports Doctors.

The title sounds almost like a recommendation: a coach begging his defenders. But Do not score an own-goal is an initiative to introduce in secondary schools a very difficult topic such as health education. The aim is to attack cancer knowing very well how embarrassing this subject can be.  The lesson is held in the gym by a cancer doctor and a Serie A football player acting as an ambassador in the fight against this illness.

Tuesday October 22, Emanuele Calaiò had the task to create the right atmosphere with the students encouraging them towards correct practices without scaring them.

The next meetings will be held in November in Parma, Milan, Bologna and Bergamo visiting all the cities which have a Serie A team.
